Róisín Ní Chionnfhaolaidh - Hand Made Fused Glass : Báidín Bídeach
Fused Glass Boat “Baidin Bideach” meaning tiny wee boat.
The artist uses traditional stained glass techniques of painting and acid etching adding cast glass elements to her work to give it a textured 3d feel. Inspired by the beautiful rugged coastline her images are drawn from the shoreline rock pools. Over the years she has designed and created a range of fused glass pieces named “Báidín Bídeach” meaning tiny wee boat. Traditional trawlers, crabs, jellyfish, starfish in vibrant colours stir memories of playful childhood days growing up in the Gaeltacht of An Rinn, in Co Waterford.
